Review: Champagne pop

Read in English      Leer en Español

On Today´s post I want to talk about this new makeup product I just got at Sephora, it’s a duo compact: highlighter and blush.

It’s from Becca cosmetics but it is also a collaboration with a you tuber one of my favourites to be honest: Jaclyn Hill.

It came out last year, ever since I found out about it a have been wanting to get my hands on it but for some reason I couldn’t until now. I usually don’t use highlighters, but, this one it’s so beautiful I think I’m in love with it!!

You can get the highlighter by its self or as a duo with a blush, like the one I got and I’ll show you down below.

This product it’s the beautiful champagne pop; champagne splits in the colours: champagne pop / Hyacinth.

The packaging it’s pretty comes in a golden box. At front has the name of the brand which is Becca and has the name of Jaclyn below the brand and the name of the product itself. In the back of it has a small picture of Jaclyn, her signature, and a little description of the product.

The compact comes in the traditional Becca cosmetics package and when you open it you find this gorgeous duo powders in the most amazing colours ever.

The highlighter has a rose gold tone and the blush is a very strong vibrant pink.

Both are very pigmented so a little goes a long way, specially the blush. Their consistency is like any other compact powder, when you apply it to the skin and blend them, they blend so beautiful almost like a cream or liquid product.

It is my first time buying a Becca cosmetic product and honestly, I am really happy with it; I was a little a afraid that the colours won’t look good on my skin tone, because, I have only seen them on very fair skin girls, but, because the highlighter has a rose and gold tone on it looks really pretty on me and I think it does looks amazing on any skin colour.

I’m not sure if this is a limited-edition product, but, despite the price I think It has a very good quality and its totally worth your money.

Have you try this highlighter before?

Pupa Mascara Review

Read in English      Leer en Español

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great holiday, may your year started full of new amazing resolutions and positive vibes.

After a couple of busy days at work, I finally have the chance to sit-down and write a new post for you, although it’s a short one, but I hope you guys like it.

Today´s post its about my review or impressions on the Diva´s Lashes mascara from Pupa Milano.

Honestly, I really love this makeup brand specially their eyeliners because there the only ones I can use that would not irritate my eyes.

I have no idea why, but apparently, pupa eyeliners are the only ones I can use on my waterline without making my eyes red and watery.

This post its all about the Diva´s Lashes mascara, and it is my very first time using it.
Comes in a red packaging, it’s a very skinny and on the packaging, says the name of the mascara and says that gives high definition and maxi volume and it is extra black!!

The brush or wand it’s just a regular mascara wand to me it’s the perfect size not too big not too small, it allows me to use it on both my top and lower lashes.

Before I talk about my impressions on the mascara I want to tell you guys I got this specific mascara at Costco at an amazing prize.

I found a 2-mascara package for about 20 dollars!! Crazy, right? Here in my country only 1 mascara of this brand costs 20 dollars and sometimes even more. I saw it and I knew I must buy it . well moving on to the post.

As I thought, because I’ve used other mascaras from this brand before; it is light like you don’t feel you have mascara on, doesn’t leave any lumps on. It does say extra black but to be honest I don’t see a difference on the colour comparing it to other brands, to me it’s just black.

It doesn’t leave the lashes tick and heavy , eve I use like 3 or 4 layers of mascara ( I know too many ) doesn’t make my lashes  stick together, the brush does help to keep a natural soft look.

With Mascara

No Mascara

On the pictures above I didn’t curl my lashes just because I wanted to really appreciated the results of it and well to me it doesn’t really do what it says.

I don’t feel or see any extra volume or definition on my lashes, I mean, you do see a difference between both pictures the one with mascara on and the one without the mascara.
But the result is very natural looking to me.

If you like some voluminous and extra-long lashes then this mascara isn’t for you, because it’s not going to make your lashes look bigger or fuller.

If You are like me and  prefer a more natural look but still looking like you are wearing makeup. Then this mascara it´s perfect for you.

Even though it doesn’t do what it promises, I am using it and I will recommend the mascara but specially the brand for all those of you who have sensitive eyes like me.
Sometimes with some brands, when I apply my mascara I feel that my eyes burn a little and they turned red.  I don’t know why it happens, but with the pupa one I didn’t feel anything at all. So, it’s great for sensitive eyes.

Don’t forget to leave your opinions on the comments down below I do enjoy reading them. I´ll see you all in the next post!

Dry clean Makeup Brush

Dry clean your Makeup Brushes

Hi! Today’s post its going to be small and not exactly a D.I.Y. but more of a tip or an alternative.

Browsing through the Ethernet I came across this new product for dry cleaning the makeup brushes but it costs 20 dollars and in my country that will be 400 Mexican pesos. So expensive!

As it caught my attention I look a little bit more and found some videos of other people suggesting cheap alternatives with stuff that we already have in the house, so I choose 3 of them to share with you in case you are not familiar to them.

This idea of dry makeup brush cleaning is just an alternative to be able to use the same brush for different colours of eyeshadows or pigments, but doesn’t work for cream or liquid products.

1.- microfiber cloth: It is really economic and you can find them in any store they even come in packages of 2 or 3 they are used for cleaning the house. This are smooth and soft cloths that doesn’t have any fluff.

This cloth trap or absorb all the dust or in this case pigment left in the brush making it possible to use it for another colour without mixing it.

2.-hair donut: this little donut that we use for a suck bun it is made of a plastic ned that is soft and this texture makes it easy for the brush to dust off the pigment in it when you do it in circular motions over the donut.

3.- synthetic sponge: it is the typical sponge used for cleaning the dishes. The same as the hair donut its texture helps the brush dust off the pigments and doesn’t damage the brush and it’s easier to clean.

I have a fourth option, I didn’t really find any videos mentioning it but since I had it at home I decided to give it a try and worked perfectly.

4.- Polypropylene cloth or disposable cloth: You know that little piece of cloth that comes with your computer to protect the screen when you buy it, that’s disposable cloth and you can also buy the fabric. This cloth works as well as the microfiber one it really cleans off the brush but the down side isthat even is washable won´t last as longer as the others.

To keep any of this in a safe place you can keep it in a plastic or metallic container with a lid that way will be safe and clean .

Now here is a video showing you how all these options work:

As I say in the beginning it isn’t a D.I.Y. is an alternative and doesn’t substitutes the fact that we need to deep clean our makeup brushes.

Hope this little tip its helpful and don’t forget to leave me in the comments if you already used this or what do you use for dry cleaning your makeup brushes.

Hello! So in today's post i will show you how i clean my makeup brushes. There are many different methods to clean them and they will vary depending if your brushes are made with natural or synthetic bristles, but this method is the one i use and i have had good results with

First prepare a mixture of olive oil and liquid soap, any liquid soap will do. The olive oil will help to keep the bristles soft and remove oily makeup as foundation, BBCream, gel eyeliner etc.

When your mixture is ready wet the brush, is important when you do it to be sure the bristles of the brush are looking downwards
This way will avoid the water to touch the handle of the brush, preventing to enter inside the brush and avoiding the bristles to come off, making the life of your brushes longer.

sumerge the bristles of the brush into the mixture, using the makeup brush cleaning tablet start cleaning the brush with very gentle circular motions.

If you don't have a makeup brush cleaning tablet don't worry, use your fingers to gently massage the bristles of the brush, you will see the foam in the color of the makeup you use, continue cleaning until the foam is clear or white.

Now that your brushes are clean it's time for them to get dry. The best way once again is to let them with the bristles looking downwards so the water can drain out of them, i kno 2 ways to do it:

The first one, and this is my favorite is fold a towel make like a little roll with it, put it over another towel, the handle of the brush will lay over the roll and the bristles over the second towel under it.

The second one and i think most people know this method is using hair tie, tied it on a towel tube the one in the bathroom, this way the brush will be hanging upside down.

There are many products on the market that are made for cleaning makeup brushes, you can even use a little bit of alcohol, but is always good to give them a good scrub once in a while to get rid of all the bacteria specially if you have acne like me.

Cleaning brushes is really easy, but if you are just starting your way in to makeup can be a little frustrating not knowing the right way to take care of your makeup tools, i hope this post is helpful to you and if you have a different way to do it please share, i will love to read it.
