5 tips to look great in a bikini

It’s July and finally summer vacations! And most likely we are all going to take advantage off the weather and head straight to the beach for a perfect tan and to show off our new bikini that we just bought for this occasion.

But if you didn’t thought this thru and now you feel I little shy about wearing a bikini in public because, you feel like you don’t have that ¨bikini body¨ or suddenly think you didn’t work out enough to look good on it.

Don’t worry because today I got for you:

photos from

5 tips to look great in a bikini without trying to hard.

1.- straighten your posture: keeping a straight posture will help prevent the abdomen to grow  and make it look like you have a belly or that famous muffin top.  So walk with your back straight which not only will make you look skinny but also taller.  Easy right!

2.- swollen and eliminate toxins:  Most of the time we have a swollen abdomen that makes us looks  that we have a little belly it can happen because of a bad diet or lack of exercise. To prevent that to happen we should include in our diet more food rich in fiber like oatmeal, spinach, broccoli and papaya.

Remember drinking water will help to eliminate all the toxins in the body.

3. - Burn abdomen fat: Try to work out at least 2 times a week, do exercises that will help you burn  the fat specially in the abdomen area like running and crunches and sit ups.
Remember those last two works better if you combine them with a cardio activity and a healthy diet.

Try to include avocado and celery in your diet because they help to burn fat.

4. - Exfoliate your skin:  Exfoliating the skin helps to remove all the death cells and skin making it look radiant, younger looking and soft. You can make  your own  sugar scrub with brown sugar and some olive or coconut oil or honey.

5. - Choose the bikini that best suits your body:  This may be a little harder for some of us because not all know what type of body we have.
But an easy way to do this is just to make the best of our attributes for example:  if you have a small breast   choose a bikini with a top part with some lace or big fun patterns to bring more attention to it and if you have big hips try to choose a bikini bottom more simple and in darker or neutral color.

Remember that the most important thing to do to look great in a bikini or any clothes is:

To be confident and feel good about ourselves and body, you don’t need to look like any model or actress or starve yourself to be skinny; there is no bikini body or perfect body. We all are beautiful in our own way; you just need to embrace that.

I hope you like these tips and they can be helpful for you all and as always I invite you to share with me any other tips that you know in the comments below.

5 tips for the SUMMER

5 tips for the SUMMER

Hello everyone, so for some of us summer is right around the corner, and of course it means sun, beach and fun.
There are some advices that we should consider this time of the year.

Our skin is not the only one that is affected by the heat, all of our body and immunological system is affected by the high temperatures; that’s why we should be careful to avoid dehydration, heatstroke or insolation.

1. - Keep your self-hydrated: we´ve been told all the time to drink 2 to 3 liters of water a day to keep our body hydrated and functioning well , over the summer is essential to drink water, we sweat more than usual and can cause dehydration.

Other way to keep us hydrated is by drinking serum which has electrolytes that would prevent the dehydration, restore the fluids and minerals that we lose. If you don’t know where to buy it, don’t worry I’ll tell you how to make it at home.  2 different ways.

.add 1 or 2 tablespoons of salt per litter of water, add a little of lemon juice and sugar to taste. Mix it well.

.mix 50 & 50 of mineralized water and apple juice.

2. - Eat more fruits: a balance diet is good all year long, but during the summer eating fruits is a most! We can not only eat the seasonal fruits but also the ones that are fresh and rich in water like: watermelon, melon, mango, apples and pineapples.

3.- Be careful with what we eat: during the summer we need to be careful with what we eat and where we eat, and no, I don’t mean eating clean, with the heat lots of food goes bad really quick like seafood, milks, meat, if we ´re not careful coking the food properly and eating in clean places  we can end up with typhoid or salmonellosis.

4. - Avoid sun exposure:  during the summer is quite impossible to avoid the sun. From 10 am to 4 pm is the worst time to be out, it’s when sun rays are stronger.
If it’s essential to go out during that time of the day don’t forget to use: sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, and if you are by the pool or the beach, don’t forget to bring and umbrella to protect you from the sun.

5.- Use a moisturizer or a buddy butter: our skin needs to be hydrated and drinking water is not enough, after been expose to the sun don’t forget to use a moisturizer to hydrate the skin and help it recover from the sun burns and avoid peeling.

If you happened to spend a lot of time on the sun and your skin started to peel, don’t worry here is a little tip:

Use cold tomatoes slices on your skin twice a day, will refresh the skin, hydrate the dermis and relieve the burning.

I hope all this tips are helpful to all of you who live in countries that are about to start the summer, if any of you know any other tips don’t forget to share them in the comments below!

How to whiten dark under arms

Dark under arms ?

Hello everyone. In today’s post  I’ll talk about those awful black stains in the armpits and some advices to help you prevent them or eliminate them.

Lets start with why the armpist get this black stain.

Usually we girls are the ones who suffer from this problem, and it is due to different factors like: irritation, deodorant, and shaving, accumulation of death cells or dead skin, sweat, hormone disorder. Just to say a few.

You may be asking yourself how all this can cause black stains, and how I am going to avoid it if is part of my daily routine, well let me explain it to you.

The skin under the arms is very sensitive and delicate than the rest of our body, the sweet makes the skin more vulnerable to irritate.
When we shave the area it’s easier to irritate the skin, with bumps and ingrowth hair grow, but because shaving cuts the hair instead of removing it  makes it look dark, but if you wax it instead leaves skin softer and helps remove death skin.

The skin on the armpits it’s in constant friction all the time, so it’s important to take good care of it, by choosing the right deodorant that contains the fewer chemicals, so it won’t irritate the skin and also that won’t leave pieces of deodorant stock in your skin like stick deodorants roll on are much better.

It’s important to have in mind that dark skin is more prone to get dark marks than lighter skin.

Then  What do i have to do to avoid getting dark armpits?

Epilate the área with wax or depilatory cream.

Use deodorants that helps remove the stains specially roll- on ones.

Exfoliates with sugar, will help remove death cells to avoid the stain.

Use sunscreen if you are going to expose yourself to sunlight or use sleeveless blouses.

All this tips are good but there are to prevent the stain.

What if I already have dark armpits?

One home remedy a good one I know is to use a little lemon on the armpits at night and leave it there for no more than 15 minutes, rinse with water. It’s important to do it at night because if you do it during day light and you go out you’ll get a darker stain than before, and you don’t want that.

Another remedy is to exfoliate with sugar and a little of coconut oil no remove death skin and death cells and the oil will moisturize the skin and leave it soft.

Wax your armpit.

These are just some tips that I found useful, specially waxing and using a special deodorant  I have seen changes on my own .
If you have more tips on how to prevent dark armpits please don’t forget to share it with me on the comments below!!

Heat therapy

Heat therapy

Hello everyone! Today’s post is going to be very different from the rest of the post I usually do, I thought it will be a good idea to share this with you.

A couple months ago I found a new type of therapy and when I say new is because it is to me, never heard about it before and I don’t know if this is old in other countries but here in Mexico it just started like 2 years ago.
This therapy is known as heat therapy, it uses heat with black jade stones, negative ions and far infrared rays.
Uses the same concept as acupuncture because it’s focus on balancing the energy but instead of using needles it uses heat and jade stones.

I practice a martial art, so I’m always looking for new types of therapies when I have a sore muscle or small injure, because I really hate taking medicine pills for everything.

Two months ago a friend of mine started giving this therapy sessions, consist on 35 minutes in a jade stone mattress emitting negative ions and red infrared rays, on a 40 to 50 degree Celsius so it is really hot, after that you have to sit in a cushion with your feet on a carpet that does the exact same thing as the mattress.

The session last for about 45 minutes total, during all that time your body receives heat and relaxes.

Some of the benefits of this therapy are:

  • Helps to reduce stress and anxiety
  • Detoxifies the body
  • Helps with sore muscles, arthritis and osteoporosis
  • Regulates blood circulation
  • Reduces allergies
  • Improves physical performance
The list is long and can go on,  I have been taking the therapy for two months now, and I really have to say that helps a lot with my sports injures, I do have allergies, I’m allergic to dust and humidity and now I no longer have to take pills for that every day  because I no longer has those allergic attacks that used to look like asthma attacks they were awful .

I do the therapy before my trainings so I do see a difference in my physical performance during the class and also I don’t feel as tired as I used to after class and during the day.

I leave you an image of the bed for those who have never seen it before like me.

Did you know about this therapy? Have you try it before? Please share it with me on the comments below

5 Reasons to use SPF

Read in English      Leer en Español

Reasons to wear sunscreen

Hello in today´s post we are going to talk about sunscreen and why we should use it, some of us believe that we only need sunscreen when we go to the beach or to the pool because we spend a lot of time exposing our skin on the sun, or that is just enough to use it in the morning before we leave to work or errands.

Exposing ourselves to the sun for many hours without protection can harm your skin, not just because it can cause premature wrinkles or pigmentation but because the UVA and UVB rays can cause skin cancer.

The sun helps our body to produce vitamin D which helps to prevent depression, infections and others.  But as everything is, too much sun can be harmful.

Today we can find so many different sunscreens for sports, for kids, water resistant, with moisturizers and also with different SPF from 10 to 50+.

It is important to apply your sunscreen more than once a day, especially if you are going to the pool or the beach it is recommended to apply it every 2 to 3 hours, even if they are water proof is not as effective. If you’re not going to have that much exposure to the sun then you apply it 1 hour before every time you go out.

Remember that even if the day looks cloudy and seems like you don´t need sunscreen, you have to wear it because even then you get expose to sun rays and it can still harm your skin.

It is also important to apply your sunscreen in other parts of your body not only the face; usually we forget to apply it on the ears, neck, lips, and hands.

I personally like to apply it in all my body even if the clothes will cover it, because it doesn’t protect us 100% from the sun.

This are just some advices I wanted to share with you, if you guys have others please share them with me on the comments and also tell me which one is your favorite sunscreen, mine is Hawaiian Tropic.

Read in English      Leer en Español

Hey there! t I hope you are well, this week's post will be really short, but I wanted to share with you.

For quite a while I have been using a ointment with arnica. I am very sensitive and the with the slightest touch i get bruises and talking with some students I realized that many people do not know this product and I thought why not share it here. Although is not a beauty product, but it is always useful to know about products that might be helpful.

So here I share a little about the uses or benefits of arnica.

Arnica is a tiny yellow flower that is within the category of medicinal plants and usually you can get it in health food stores as ointment.

It is a plant that characterizes much to alleviate pain or muscle injuries because it has antibiotic, anti-inflammatory analgesic and stimulating blood circulation in the area applied.

But it also has other uses, which can be very useful; although it is not a beauty product never hurts to have a small boat and arnica ointment on hand, we never know when it might be useful.

These are some of its uses:

Prevents and / or eliminates bruising and reduces pain

Unswollen blisters that are not open

Relieves muscle aches from sprains or dislocations

     Prevents stretch marks in pregnancy

Help ease the discomfort of rheumatoid arthritis

As infusion can do gargles to remove bacteria from the throat and to cure canker sores or blisters

As infusion can be applied on pimples or zits to help dry faster.

As oil can be used on the scalp reactivating circulation and helps prevent excessive hair loss

Has homeopathic use (ingested) which helps prevent travel sickness Boat.

I hope this information was helpful to you. If you know any other use of arnica or already have used before do not forget to share in the comments!

How to care for your lips

How to care for your lips

Have you ever noticed that despite how  much we pay attention and care to the skin of our face we often forget about our lips.

Our lips also require special care to keep them soft and hydrated.

It is very important to keep them properly hydrated, to protect them from drastic climate changes and like the rest of the skin is essential to protect them from UV rays.

Its not as complicated as it sounds and do not require special treatment, just follow these steps  that I´ll share and you will have beautiful lips.

photo from

1. Don´t wet your lips with your tongue: saliva removes the thin layer that the lips creates and protects them, causing it to crack more easily.

 2. Do not tear the dead skin: If you have dead skin on your lips is best to use a gentle exfoliant to remove them and avoid pluck. A sugar-based exfoliant makes the perfect job. Pluck will only damage the skin more. If you're not a fan of exfoliants you can use a childrens toothbrush  because they are soft and massage your lips at night before bed.

 3. Add moisture: One of the easiest ways to keep them moisturized is to use a lip balm several times a day. If you do not have the habit of using it can try to use it 3 times a day. Especially if you're going to exfoliate. There are different types of balms, for me are better the ones that are based on natural products.

Remember to stay hydrated by drinking water throughout the day also helps your lips, and the rest of your skin looking and stay healthy.

4. Avoid biting your lips: rubbing your teeth on the lips can cause slight cuts that are annoying and uncomfortable also generates premature wrinkles on the lips.

5. Use sunscreen: YES you read it, it is important to protect lips from harmful UV rays, there are lip balms that already contain sunscreen, but if you have doubts you can just put some of your sunscreen you use for the rest of your body on your lips. Remember that your lips are one of the parts of your body that are more exposed to the sun.

These are just some tips that I personally use every day to care for my lips and they have worked quite well. If you have other tips please share them with me in the comments below.

What causes under eye bags and how to avoid them

Read in English      Leer en Español

Bags under your eyes?

Do you ever wonder why you have bags under your eyes? What causes them? Probably you have and probably also thought that is just because you don´t have enough sleep. In the today´s post not only I´ll tell you some of the reasons why you have these horrible bags but also tips to avoid them and help them disappear.

Under eye bags are characterized by training in the lower lid, bringing a sad and aging appearance to the face, not to mention that they are nothing aesthetic. But why do they appear?

First of all we must understand dark circles and under eye bags are NOT the same, dark circles usually are dark or green tones and bags are colorless as such is only inflammation.

Second, if one day you wake up with swollen eyes does not mean you have bags it just means you have not had enough sleep, and this inflammation will be removed during the day.

Having clarified those points that believe it or not many people get confused, lets get back to the central point of this post. There are several factors which  appear eye bags:

Not getting enough sleep
Excessive drinking
Spend many hours in front of the monitor
Fluid retention
by inheritance

Unfortunately if your bags are by inheritance there is not much that can be done, except perhaps plastic surgery; but if your cause is one of the other factors these are some tips you can do to remove them or prevent them from appearing.

Sleeping: so easy to sleep the recommended eight hours are essential for a good rest and recover your whole body. It is best to sleep before midnight to achieve better rest. That is, you will not rest if you sleep from 9:00 pm-6:00am that if you sleep from 2:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  your body does not recovers the same, even if the same amount of sleeping hours.

Use cold compresses and cold tea bags: can be green or chamomile tea (10 min) will help reduce inflammation and stimulate circulation in that area.

Avoid foods high in salt, alcohol, tabacco: as these only increase fluid retention which will go to our eyelids and cause the bags.

Do not rub your eyes: rubbing the  eyes will not make to suddenly appear the bags, but  you are damagimg the skin in that area which is very sensitive, it can get to be a little flabby, and cause premature wrinkling.

Sleeping with the head higher than the rest of the body: this will help keep fluid under the eyes, sleep circulation is slower because the body is at rest and tends to accumulate liquid in this area so sometimes we wake with swollen eyes.

Drink a minimum of 2 liters of water a day: it helps to have better circulation.

Use special creams made for this area of the face: there are products that are special for the under eyes as it is a very delicate area the skin is more sensitive and thinner than the rest of the face, these creams can even help prevent premature wrinkles.

These are just some tips I know to help with this problem, if you know some others that you have tried, do not forget to share it with me in the comments below.
